The听visit, led by Minister for Education Jason Clare,听Minister for Skills and Training Andrew Giles and Assistant Minister for听International Education Julian Hill,听reflects the strength of Australia鈥檚听partnership听with India and the听shared ambition to听expand education,听skills听and research collaboration.听
Ministers and sector leaders will meet India鈥檚听Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan听at听the Education and Skills Council meeting. The visit will also include sector听roundtables and engagements with Indian institutions and听senior听officials.听

鈥淥ur universities connect our countries听鈥 through research that听tackles global challenges, joint degrees and the exchange of听student and academic听staff.听

The visit听will focus on expanding collaboration in areas including online and blended learning, quality assurance, qualification听recognition听and joint research addressing shared national priorities.听
Mr Sheehy said universities are strongly committed to supporting the Albanese Government鈥檚听efforts听to grow, diversify and deepen Australia鈥檚 international education听relationships.听
鈥淚ndia is Australia鈥檚 second-largest source of international students, and our academic and research links continue to grow every year,鈥澨齢e said.听

The delegation will visit New Delhi from 8-9 December 2025.听
