“It’s been a terrific two days in India with Education Minister Jason Clare and his Indian counterpart, Minister Dharmendra Pradhan,” ������˾�� Chief Executive Catriona Jackson said.

“The rise of the Australia-India relationship means so much for both nations, with tangible mutual benefits for both our people and our countries.

“How our nations tackle big issues using education and research was front and centre of all discussions.

“It was wonderful to see construction of the University of Wollongong and Deakin University campuses on Indian soil continues apace with enrolments open and formal openings scheduled for 2024.

“This is a concrete marker of a bright future – our universities playing a central role in India’s nation-changing education ambitions.

“We welcome the launch of the Australian Government’s to guide and strengthen our partnerships with India, as well as $11 million in funding to support Indian researchers to study in Australia.

“We’re also delighted to see four new agreements signed between Australian and Indian universities during this visit – building on the hundreds of existing partnerships our universities share.

“Australia and India are united in using education and research to make our nations and our region stronger, safer, more sustainable and more successful.

“Universities look forward to continuing to work with both governments through this new golden era for the Australia-India relationship.”
